Pilar Tarry is the global co-lead of the M&A and Transaction Advisory group at AlixPartners, with experience culled from 25 years helping corporate and private equity clients create value throughout the transaction lifecycle. A pragmatic, hands-on, and people-oriented leader, Pilar is known for delivering high-impact results in complex, pressurized environments. She is a strong advocate and sponsor of inclusive leadership initiatives at AlixPartners. She holds an MBA from Michigan State University and is a Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor.

Pilar's experience includes guiding clients through complex M&A and restructuring solutions, including as a Chief Restructuring Officer (CRO).  She has deep expertise driving complex carve-outs and separations, accelerated value capture programs, contingency planning and recapitalizations. With clients spanning a number of industries, Pilar’s experience spikes toward industrial companies, frequently with a global footprint.

  • Advised a large travel management company on its successful global recapitalization transaction.
  • Advised Garrett Motion in its global recapitalization and restructuring.
  • Drove comprehensive EBITDA improvement project at global PE-owned steel services provider with operations in the US, South America and Europe.
  • Interim management at Vari-Form, a PE-backed supplier of automotive and hydroforming technologies to OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers during its value-maximizing divestiture of six businesses in a series of transactions.
  • Advised Sequa Corporation, a large aerospace parts manufacturer, on liquidity management and process matters in connection with its successful recapitalization.
  • Drove separation, carve-out or sell-side process at Charter Communications, Vari-Form, Appvion, Walter Energy, Dana, Fruit of the Loom and Cable & Wireless.
  • Assisted a large confidential automotive client with contingency planning for certain of its operations in Southeast Asia.
  • Led the operational implementation of carve-out and sale of Dana Corporation’s core business to a financial buyer as part of its comprehensive restructuring.
  • Served as interim management at both Atkins Nutritionals and Cable & Wireless during their respective restructuring transactions.
