There is clearly an urgent imperative to use everything at our disposal to fight the coronavirus and save lives ... however how will we regain control of the use of citizens' data after the crisis is over?

Perhaps we need a very clear, finite-term 'safe harbour' for the use of epidemiological data, which does not reverse the hard won advances in protecting privacy rights around the world, or at least in the US and EU.

And the best advice to most businesses would be to make sure you are still complying with GDPR and other applicable privacy regulations.
